I met Jessica and Casey on the waterfront this past Wednesday for there engagement shoot. Even though it was a bit hot and shade was the area to be in, we ended with some great shots. These two have known each other since they were like 12, and it was so awesome to see their connectivity. Shooting engagement sessions with me always includes a little "pda" but I really don't think they mind that much. My main goal is to find and show the love between the two. I think it shows. Aawww, what a sweetie. I had two proud parents in here last Friday with their first baby (girl). Along with the pleasure of shooting this new family, I was trying out some new gear too! Along with a new camera body, I have the 85mm 1.4 Nikon Lens. Oh boy that thing is sweet too. I dogging myself for not having it sooner. I heading out for Derby Festivities, but I to get some of these out for the two awesome parents I meet this morning. They brought these two cuties in and they were awesome. Pretty, Anywhere She Goes

Newborns are not always this easy to shoot. Of coarse mom had to feed this sweet little girl and keep her happy, but once she had a fully belly she was ready to go. Dad brought in his fire gear in hopes to incorporate it into a photo, and I think we did pretty good. We tried some other set ups, but this was one of my favorites. I had a really great time with this family and glad they signed on to the "Newborn to One" program. Thanks mom & dad!

Lets Skip the Crawlin Thang

A quick upload before I head out for the weekend. This 9 month handsome boy started my morning off today and rocked it. It seemed as though he was ready to skip crawling and go straight into walking. Well not yet, but he's almost there. There were many funny things about this shoot, including Dad's discomfort in the first outfit, the many new and funny faces I saw, and his willingness to go just about anywhere I put him. Still not sure about the Tonka truck, I think I just need to find me a yellow hard hat to go with it, and maybe dirty it up a bit. That's it for now, thanks mom!

Blessed Are We with Little Girls Like Thee

This 6 month old cutie was the last of my progression last Saturday. It started with a maternity session, then a handsome 3 month old boy, and ended with this adorable baby girl. While I did manage to get some smiles, I think we just started at each other in wonder most of the time. She was so good and sat contently just about anywhere I put her. By now you might now already that I'll choose some soulful eyes over a smile any day and my choices aren't always the same as moms. That cool though, because I always give you plenty of choices, and sessions like this makes it hard. I told mom during the session that I should probably stop at some point so it isn't to hard on her. I couldn't help to keep shooting. Honestly I still contemplate that philosophy.

Threes Company in the Studio

I would have to say that I always have fun with this group and it's exciting to see them grow. As of three weeks ago they got to bring their newest addition home, and today I had the honors of photographing her. She was a gorgeous little girl, and now has two big sisters to help her grow. The chair is something that I've had for a while now, although I've used it, this is why I brought it home to the studio. This is all for now, thanks mom & dad!

The Rain Cleared For This One

The clouds passed and the sun showed its face so we and others could enjoy last Saturday's warm temps. This great couple invited me out to their country home to explore the many beautiful areas to photograph their engagement session. The sweet ride would be my favorite, but we also checked out the creek, dodged some snakes, lit up an old barn, and ended at this gigantic oak tree which has its own symbolic nature. Yeah we got a little dirty, but it was worth it. Thanks guys.

Easter and Pizza Go Hand In Hand

This was a great session. Two adorable siblings and a mom with great ideas. As soon as this little boy was carried in my door he was smiling. We eventually wore him out and the chef hat (although awesome) wouldn't stay on (I think is was cramping his style). His big sister was hilarious too, she apparently had been in front of the camera before, so we tried our best to keep it candid. Switching from Easter shots to the "little chef" was an exciting change of pace, and watching him devour the pepperoni and cheese made us all a little hungry. Thanks for bring the props mom, I can't claim that one although great!

Aahhhh, Finally It's Time Again

Ahhhh, I love being back to warmer weather and getting the chance to take my clients out to the park for fun and photos. This cute little red head took a minute to warm up to me, but when he did, we had tons of fun in our little family adventure. We went swinging, climbing fences, walking in the woods, played in the grass, saw some old wagons, and walked on the train tracks. It was a blast, and well we got dirty too. My Little Sister

It was another exciting and rewarding Saturday. I had the chance to meet another new family and photograph their children, including a 3 month old little girl and her 3 year old sister. The 3 month old was again, one of the most mild tempered and happy babies I've photographed in a while. Even though she showered dad a FEW times, she did amazing. Her big sister was great too and glad (I suppose) that the focus wasn't on her, although when it was her turn, she was ready to go. While we mainly focused on the sibling love, we had the chance to break out the new tutu! Cute! Thanks so much family!

A Growing Family

I tell you...it's a treat everytime I get a family like this. Fun, responsive, and willing to at least try some of my (fill in the blank) ideals. Big brother was great and I can tell he will fullfill the title. This little baby boy was a cutie at only 2 weeks old and a trooper too. We had the chance to play around in the studio for about 1.5 hrs till we finally wore out. There are tons more of coarse, but moms always get to look first. Thanks for looking!

The 2 Year Old Agenda

I would have to say even though 2 year olds are busy little bodies, I love shooting them. The love falls somewhere in between the challenge of chasing and convincing vs. playing and discovering their character. And even if we spend 2 hrs together and only get one or two shots, I will have more than likely come away for the shoot alittle smarter and prepared for the next. This little guy cracked me up. Its amazing seeing the independance and character unfold within our little time we have together. Thanks buddy, you did awesome!

A Cute Little Colts Fan

You can see this baby boy is serious about his Colts. I think he was staring at my gold Fleur-de-Lis peering through my shirt. Ha-ha, all sports aside I can't say how much I enjoy it when my moms and dads bring in these fun outfits. This little guy is in my baby program, which I love because I get to watch him grow all through his first year and create friendships with his parents. It's truly rewarding no matter how you look at it. Thanks guys!

A Family's New Baby

I had the chance today to shoot this beautiful baby boy. Only 16 days old, he was a trooper to last through more than a hour of photography. My family joined the "Newborn to One" program, which means I get the pleasure of watching and photographing him grow for the next year. Stay tuned, he'll be back in a few months.

I'll tell you what, nothing warms up a bitter cold snowy day then a beautiful 6 month old baby with the biggest smile you've ever seen. Mom did awesome with the wardrobe selection (I'll have to name drop the tag when hear it again.) I would have photographed this baby all morning if she would have let me. Okay, well I'm aware that there aren't that many of the groom. This was a quick grab of some of my favorites that I had to get out. This was a very dynamic wedding day and we had a great time. I started with the girls at the Seelbach Hotel in their sweet bridal room, and after a few great shots on 4th St. we headed to the Frazier Historical Muesum. I have to say I love shooting downtown with all Louisville's style. Beautiful wedding, superb people, and too much fun.

Pasta, Baby!

What a beautiful day! Yeah, we went outside and took some great shots, which will be coming out soon, but mama brought the pasta. Inspired by a photo seen elsewhere, I recieved a call from one of my favorite clients asking if she could bring in some noodles for a idea she had. I loved the ideal, no matter the mess. This was the shot for me. Great fun and lessons learned. Number 1. babies don't like cold pasta on their head and #2. kids like pasta even without the cheese. Thanks again Natalie!

Ahhh... yes. What a beautiful and smoothly planned wedding I shot last night. With the ceremony at St. Marys and the reception at The Grand in New Albany it was bound for glory. Whitney & Kyle's Wedding

Rain can't hold me back. I traveled the Harrodsburg, KY for this beautiful wedding and we all hoped for beautiful weather for this outdoor wedding. However a week long of rainy weather dampened the plans. The ceremony was moved to a small local church and the reception stayed in the tent. Although it was soggy, it was a packed and fun event. Its takes a couple willing to do what it takes to get the shots for years of memories. Thanks to the hospitality of the parents it was a breeze.

You have to love 50 degree (or better) days in November. I had a great afternoon Sunday with these two kiddos. The little one had just learned to sit up, so he was a perfect subject for great portraits. Well, that is when he seemed interested in the camera. His sister is also at that perfect age for pictures. It was nearly impossible to delete any of those blue eyed files. A big thanks to mom for coordinating those great outfits. Thanks to the people at Locust Grove too for maintaining a perfect atmosphere.

I'm telling you guys if all brothers and sisters got along like these two, it would be a perfect world. Zandy & Zack, you guys are awesome. Apparently it had been a long time since they were photographed professionally (babies), so it was time. I think Zack entertained me more than the other way around. As far as shooting goes, I usually don't prefer the white background due to its popularity, but I love this shot. Thanks for making it more fun than usual guys!

Occasionally, I get the privilege of bringing my boys to work with me. It all depends if I can create time to play or stick a DVD in the computer for a while. We also get to play in my studio and experiment sometimes. This was a new background I put in for holiday photos and for my seniors. Great isn't it. This is Isaac (my oldest, 3.5). You can tell he been conditioned. Well, actually like most children, you get 1 out of 10 like this.

A Cold Senior Session

This will be my first post for Fusion Photography's new blog, yeah! As you will figure out I will go to any lengths for my seniors to get them what they want. On this particular day we planned our on-location shoot in the middletown area after shooting the studio shots the day before. As the time approached the skys grew cloudy and flurries began to fall. Once me and Cody made it outside it seemed to be the start of a nice cold snow, regardless we stuck it out and made so amazing photographs. Even thought this guy had a great smile he also had that natural model look, but his mom and I decided not to encourage that. Thanks Cody!
